Excellent Cuisine

Marked by its street-side queue, this place didn’t let us down. We had a large portion with a mix of duck and chicken. The rice, seasoned with a tasty gravy and served with cabbage, was delicious. The wait was brief, around 10 minutes, and definitely worth it. Like many, we enjoyed our meal in the park across the street.

Amazing Experience

July 11, 2024

For anyone craving budget-friendly, basic Chinese comfort food in NYC, this is the place to go. You can get a plate of pork and duck with rice and cabbage for just $8, which is quite rare these days. The queue can be lengthy, and it’s cash-only, so be prepared to spend a little time waiting. Plus, there’s no indoor seating available. I’ve visited several times and noticed that while the roast pork’s quality can vary, the roast duck is always reliably good. I love this no-frills spot for its great value and classic NYC experience. It’s a must-stop every time I’m in town, with many choosing to enjoy the food in the park across the street.

Delicious food!

July 7, 2024

The food here is delicious, with just three options (pork, chicken, or duck over rice—small or large), so despite the line sometimes stretching around the corner, it moves fairly quickly. The interior is quite basic—narrow, extremely hot, and not very clean. Fortunately, it’s primarily a takeout place, so you won’t spend much time inside. The few moments I did spend there left a lasting impression. I opted for the small pork and rice for $5.

Great, friendly service!

July 2, 2024

This Chinese BBQ joint is excellent, though it’s cash-only and often has a long line that moves at a steady pace. The roast pork is a standout, and while the chicken is good, it doesn’t quite match the pork. The small portion is quite filling. I plan to return to try the roast pig, which I believe is crispy pork belly. If you have some time, it’s definitely worth a visit, though many similar spots offer this kind of fare.

I’d say this is the one spot in NYC where I’m willing to wait in line to order! The roast pork is fantastic, and the duck is exceptional! The sauce enhances the rice, making it incredibly flavorful! The portions are generous—one serving is ample for two people. And the best part? It’s really affordable!
